RARE TROPICAL FRUITS

I still remember when I was a child I ate so much fruit every day, but it is very difficult to find at this time. In the past almost all houses had fruit trees.

This time we will look back on my childhood, what fruits are very rare at this time. For the name of the fruit I use in Balinese, because each region has a different names for these fruits.

1. KEPUNDUNG FRUIT

This type of fruit has a pretty sweet taste. There are two types of fruit flesh that are red and white. Their skins cannot be eaten and the trees are quite large

2.DUKU/CERORING FRUIT

This type of fruit has a sweet and sour taste, slightly bitter on the skin of the fruit.The fruit skin is not edible and has a large tree

3.KECACIL FRUIT

The taste of this fruit is very sour And has a big tree.Usually consumed for tradisional salad ingredients or in Balinese it is called RUJAK

4.KALIASEM FRUIT

This one fruit also has a sour taste and is also consumed for RUJAK. The skin and flesh of the fruit are edible

5.SRIKAYA SILIK FRUIT

One of my favorite fruits. It tastes sweet but has lots of seeds. It has a tree that is not too big. This fruit is as big as an adult’s hand

6.KOSTA FRUIT

The taste of this fruit is neither too sweet nor too sour. The texture of the fruit is like a paste, with lots of seeds and fiber in it. The size of this fruit is the size of two adult fists with the skin of the fruit is very tough and the tree is very tall

7.SINGEPUR FRUIT

This small fruit is very sweet without the slightest bit of sour taste. The tree is medium and shady. The flesh and skin of the fruit are edible

8.JUWET FRUIT

This fruit tastes quite sweet and is accompanied by a spicy taste. There are two types of this fruit. The black one and the white one. The white juwet fruit is very rarely found.

9.SAWO FRUIT

The taste of this fruit is very sweet, the flesh is thick and the seeds are few. The skin of the fruit can also be consumed

10.BEKUL FRUIT

The size of this fruit is small. The taste is sour and a little bitter. The tree is not too big and has many thorns

11.TENGULUN FRUIT

This fruit is dominated by a sweet taste with a little sourness. The fruit is small and compound like grapes. The size of the tree is quite large and prickly.

12.CEREMAI FRUIT

This small fruit tastes sweet and sour, the tree is medium, usually consumed as ingredients for RUJAK or for pickles

13.KEDONDONG FRUIT

This fruit is less than the grip of an adult’s hand. The taste is quite sweet, but there is also a unique acid, the fruit seeds are fibrous like a toothbrush

14.WANI FRUIT

This is also one of my favorite fruits. The taste is quite sweet, but unfortunately the flesh is not thick and the seeds are large

15.BONI FRUIT

The fruit structure is like grapes but smaller in size .. The red fruit tastes sour and the black one is quite sweet. This fruit is also consumed for RUJAK ingredients.
